Luis Torres has spent nearly a decade helping students to achieve academic excellence and authors to become published. He has served students as a lecturer at the university level and has been the submissions editor at Poetry International for nearly five years. He is also an executive member of the WB Yeats Poetry Society of New York, which operates out of the National Arts Club.

Luis was recently interviewed by the faculty of the Department of English at Harvard University, and he is in a unique position to share what steps he took to become a finalist for their PhD program. He is en route to becoming a PhD student and, later down the line, a professor of literature. He has the knowledge and the expertise to assist others as they prepare material for undergraduate and graduate schools.

He has published poetry and prose extensively in literary journals of the likes of Rattle, Los Angeles Review, Portland Review, Rumpus, and Laurel Review.
